As per legend, Diwali is celebrated as the return of the victorious Ram after defeating Ravan, and to signify the end of evil, rows of lamps were lit to welcome Ram and Sita after being in exile for 14 years. Traditions:
Diwali is usually a five-day festivity. The first and second day is known as Dhanteras and mini Diwali respectively.
